What We Believe
1. We believe the Bible to be God’s Word, totally true and without error.
‘All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.’ II Timothy 3:16-17
Our first question, when faced with a decision, is ‘What does the Bible say?’ We stress the importance of daily Bible reading, Bible study and Bible memorization. The Bible is the basis for all we believe.
2. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin, died on a cross for man’s sins, arose on the third day and will return again for His children.
Jesus not only said He was the way in John 14:6, He demonstrated that He was the way by giving up His life on the cross, by being obedient to the Father and thus providing eternal life for all who will believe.
3. We believe that it takes a personal relationship with Jesus in order to go to Heaven.
The Bible says that man is separated from God because of sin. The only
way to have forgiveness for sin is by accepting Jesus Christ into one’s
life. The Bible teaches that it is by grace through faith that we are
saved.
Here is how salvation works:
A. Admit you are a sinner—Repent (turn) from your sin.
B. Believe that Jesus is God’s Son and your Savior, and the only answer
for your sin.
C. Commit your life to Jesus by asking Him to come into your heart to
save you.
4. We believe in the Great Commission. It is the responsibility of believers to evangelize our community and disciple people to be mature followers of Christ.
It is the responsibility of every Christian to share the Good News with everyone we meet. We practice personal sharing and encourage members to invite their friends to church. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)
5. We believe the doctrines of the Southern Baptist Convention
